Jess Vanderfleet
Jess Vanderfleet (she/her) is a Canadian artist. She explores themes of existentialism, fluidity and the duality of identity, using mixed media to make sculptural works. She is inspired by the silliness and unseriousness that being alive can be sometimes, choosing to focus on the small moments of joy.
This collection of egg plates are part of the “How Do You Like Your Eggs?” collection. Which is the visual response to being asked ‘how do you like your eggs?’ This piece studies eggs as a regular and repetitive breakfast food. Put on the table for contemplation of their potential to be cooked differently while still just being eggs for breakfast.
