Fleur Real Rust Range
This Fleur product line creates real rust effects on your furniture, artwork and surfaces. If you are starting out with the Real Rust effect, get the convenient Fleur Real Rust kit.
The application cycle is as follows:
- Step 1: Prepare the surface by applying Fleur Rust Primer with a brush and let the coat dry for 30 minutes.
- Step 2: Apply two coats of your preferred rust colour with a brush, allowing the first coat to dry before applying the second one. 2 rust colours are available: Real Rust and Light.
- Step 3: Apply the Reagent unevenly for the best visual effect. For optimal results, dab the product onto the surface using a sea sponge. It can also be applied with a rag, roller, or brush—each method will produce a unique texture and finish. We recommend experimenting first to achieve your desired look. The rust effect will begin to appear within 1 to 2 hours.
- Step 4: Once the desired rust effect is achieved, apply Fleur’s Rust Anti-Oxidant Finish to halt the oxidation process and preserve your result.
Optional: Insulate the surface with the special primer. To speed up the oxidation time, mix the colour Rust (or Light Rust) directly with the Reagent in a 1:3 ratio. Once the desired result is obtained and after letting it dry, apply 2 coats of Anti-Oxidant Finish to stop the oxidation process, waiting 2-4 hours between the layers.
